Evelyn P. Smith

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Evelyn P. Smith, age 85, of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed away on Friday, Dec. 2, 2011 at 2:00 a.m. in Fairview Nursing Center, Du Quoin, Ill.

Evelyn was born on Jan. 19, 1926 in Mounds, Ill., a daughter to Lee and Edna (Havens) English. On Nov. 24, 1945, she married Lloyd W. Smith in Olmsted, Ill. and they enjoyed 60 wonderful years together. He preceded her in death on June 12, 2006. She was a member of Nine Mile Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, Ill., loved country music and watching Country Music Television. Evelyn was a loving mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Deanna (Ralph) Flowers of Pinckneyville, Ill.; six grandchildren, Mathew (Amanda) Flowers, Mark (Sherry) Flowers, Geanna (Jason) Eveland, Adrian Smith, Jacob Smith (special friend, Kassie) and Troy (Tristen) Smith; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Ann Flowers, Shay Dylan Flowers and Madelyn Flowers; one sister, Mary Juanita Schwieger of Joliet, Ill. and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Marion Smith; one brother in infancy, Walter Lee English and one sister, Erma Lee Lance.

Funeral services were held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Interment was in Sunset Memorial Park, Du Quoin, Ill.

Friends called at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
