Perry County State's Attorney: Sheriff Not on Leave
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[David Stanton, Perry County State's Attorney, said that Sheriff Keith Kellerman is not on leave.
"Keith Kellerman remains the Perry County, Ill. Sheriff and the Chief Deputy is not currently, nor has he ever been throughout this difficult situation, the acting Sheriff," Stanton said in a written statement.
All matters and information regarding the legal issues of Perry County come from Stanton's office or from action taken by the Perry County Board as a whole.
