</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Kirk Sinclair, PhD, is the 'Hiking Humanitarian' and is accompanied by his wife Cindy. They started the "walk" at Point Reyes, California, on May 25th, 2011. A typical day of walking is 15 miles. The couple is walking to Connecticut following the trail to Cape Henlopen, Delaware. But, the final destination is home in Norfolk, Connecticut. Kirk is on his fourth pair of shoes while Cindy in on her second. Kirk stated with a smile, " Cindy is only on her second pair because she is lighter." I met this couple at Reid's Best Western. Bob Reid discovered the couple and what their walk was about and decided to graciously give them a room for the night. When I asked what the normal sleeping arrangements were Kirk said "they mostly slept in their tent in the wilderness in the states of Utah, Colorado and Nevada. In the states of Kansas, Missouri and Illinois they slept on church floors and in some homes."

Kirk explained the "Humanitarian Cause" as the need for the community to show kindness for housing, health and hunger. His Kindness Blog is www.hikinghumanitarian.com and email is hikinghumanitarian@gmail.com. Kirk is also an author, musician and speaker.
