Chester Board of Education hold regular meeting

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ The Board of Education of Chester Community Unit School District No. 139 met in the Chester School District Unit Office on January 19, 2012. President Beers called the Regular Meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Shelby Long presented information to the Board about Student Council activities.

Brad Kueker from Kueker's Nursery presented information to the Board about the Football Field.

The Board approved the minutes for the Regular Meeting of December 15, 2011.

Rich Clasen updated the Board on the Technology Department.

Scott Bert updated the Board on the Maintenance Department.

Mr. Coffey updated the Board on the Athletic Department.

Mrs. Franklin and Mrs. Kueker updated the Board on the Curriculum Department.

Mr. Lochhead, Grade School Principal, reported to the Board of Education:

PAL Auction was December 21st.

January 4th was the District Technology Meeting.

January 11-12 was the Girls Basketball Regional.

Mr. Keefe, High School Principal, reported to the Board of Education:

Semester Exams.

Financial Aid Planning (FAFSA).

February 11 will be the Winter Wonderland Dance.

Mr. Diddlebock, District Superintendent, reported to the Board of Education:

Mr. Diddlebock discussed Joint Committee meetings.

Mr. Diddlebock discussed what the State owes us in mandated categorical.

The Board approved the district bills in the amount of $598,069.26 and district payroll in the amount of $415,535.92 as presented.

The Board approved the following consent agenda items:

Dale Wahl as 5th & 6th Grade Boys & Girls Basketball Volunteer.

The Board discussed Waivers and Modifications under Section 2-3.25g to hold school or schedule teachers' institute on five legal holidays.

The Board approved to keep the past 6 months executive session minutes closed.

The Board approved the second reading of the following policies:

3:60 Administrative Responsibility of the Building Principal

4:80 Accounting and Audits

5:90 Abused and Neglected Child Reporting

5:100 Staff Development Program

5:200 Terms and Conditions of Employment and Dismissal

5:240 Suspension

6:60 Curriculum Content

6:320 High School Credit of Proficiency

7:305 Student Athlete Concussions and Head Injuries

The Board approved Ashley Bert from 3 hour to 4 hour Cafeteria Aide at the High School as an at will employee.

The Board approved Curt Gilpin as High School Girls Track Assistant Coach.

The Board approved Tracy Colvis as Grade School Assistant Volleyball Coach.

The Board approved Lacey Hartman as a 3 hour High School Cafeteria Aide as an at will employee.

The Board approved the postings of the following positions for the 2012-2013 school year:

High School English Teacher.

Grade School Assistant Principal.

The Board entered into executive session at 8:45 p.m. to discuss the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body.

The Board adjourned at 9:15 p.m.
