Early morning fire at McDonalds causes minor damage
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Chester Fire Department responded to an early morning fire at McDonalds in Chester during the early hours of January 18.
According to Chester Fire Captain Marty Bert the Chester Fire department received a call, at approximately 3:15 a.m., about a grease fire in the kitchen area of the business.
"The employees noticed the fire and called the fire department. Before we arrived on scene the employees pulled the fire suppression which contained the fire to the hood of the French fry fryer.
Once on scene, firefighters were able to put the fire out with fire extinguishers. Firefighters were on scene for about an hour. There was minimal damage to the building.
McDonalds has been closed since the incident and is expected to be open Wednesday, January 25.
Bert stated this has been a very busy beginning to the year, with the department handling 14 calls in just 17 days.
