Benny Dale Murry

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Benny Dale Murry, 81, of Du Quoin, passed away at 5:08 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012 at the Fairview Nursing Center in Du Quoin.

Benny had been a dragline operator for Consol #2 Coal Mine and a farmer. He was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Du Quoin. Benny was also a member of UMW of A.

He was born Feb. 13, 1930 at Tamaroa, Ill., the son of Xelpho and Gertie (Gilliam) Murry.

He married Shirley Ann Quinn on Feb. 7, 1953 at Pinckneyville, Ill. and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, one son - Chris Murry and wife Jill of Tamaroa, two daughters - Julie Zoller and husband David of Du Quoin and Barbara Bruns and husband Greg of Pinckneyville, one sister - Mary Lou Dauksch of Tamaroa, four brothers - William Murry of Sesser, Bob Murry and wife Carole of Tamaroa, Louie Murry and wife Sara of Sherman, Ill. and Keith Murry and wife Mary Ann of Lake of Egypt, Ill., six grandchildren - Cecil E. Jones and wife Shannon, Brittany Murry and fiance Johnny Wohlwend, Crystal Rogers, Derek Arbeiter, Jessica Bruns and Kayla Bruns, five great grandchildren - Cole, Hunter, Kadin, Ouzulyn and Gracie and two great grandchildren expected soon.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012 at the First United Pentecostal Church in Du Quoin with Rev. Dan McKinnies and Rev. C.L. McKinnies officiating.

Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at the First United Pentecostal Church in Du Quoin and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Thursday.

Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the American Cancer Society or First United Pentecostal Church in Du Quoin and will be accepted at the funeral home.
