Fern G. Hirsch
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Fern G. Hirsch, 98, of Williamsville, Ill., formerly of Du Quoin, passed away at 5:00 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012 at the Villa East in Sherman, Ill.
Fern was a homemaker. She was a member of the St. Johns United Church of Christ in Du Quoin, where she helped with church suppers and events of the church. Fern had also been a member of the quilting group of the church. Fern and her husband, Henry, enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and did everything together.
She was always busy taking care of her family.
She was born April 15, 1913 at St. Johns, Ill., the daughter of William and Ada (Kelley) Huite.
She married Henry H. Hirsch on Sept. 21, 1930 at Du Quoin, Ill. and he preceded her in death on June 25, 1989.
She is survived by one daughter - Henrietta Gharst and husband Charles of Williamsville, Ill., two granddaughters - Jennifer Willis and husband David of Greenview, Ill. and Melissa Gharst of Springfield, Ill., five great grandchildren - Jaeden Nally of Springfield, Ill., Ethan Willis, Owen Willis, Austin Willis and Elle Willis, all of Greenview, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister - Anna.
Funeral services were at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Rich Luh officiating.
Friends called from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
