Carrol Dwayne Wright
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Carrol Dwayne Wright, 72, of Pinckneyville, passed away at 8:04 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012 at the Pinckneyville Community Hospital at Pinckneyville.
He was born Nov. 29, 1939 in a log cabin north of Pinckneyville on what is now Bethel Church Road. He was a second son of Walter Robert and Annie Mae (Davis) Wright. At Bethel Baptist Church, when he was about 12 years old, he made a decision to accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior.
He married Paula Kuhnert on Sept. 16, 1961 at the First Baptist Church in Pinckneyville and later joined that church where he served his God in many ways. He was ordained as a deacon on Sept. 22, 1974. Carrol had served in the United States Army from April 1963 to 1965. He worked at First National Bank, Decca Records, G.S. Metals, U. S. Post Office and retired from Peabody Coal Company. He was a member of the UMW of A, A-Wa-We-Go Tribe and served on the Pinckneyville Public Library Board of Directors.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years of Pinckneyville, one daughter - Candace Parmenter, one son - Matt Wright and wife Jennifer, grandchildren - Joshua Lane Wright and Madelyn Xiao Wright, all of Pinckneyville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother - Paul Eugene Wright and one grandson - Noah Wright.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 17, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Pinckneyville with Rev. Charles Boling and Rev. Tim Bauersachs officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Pinckneyville and from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Friday.
Burial was in the Mueller Hill Cemetery at Pinckneyville.
Friends may make memorials to First Baptist Church of Pinckneyville and American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
Military graveside rites were conducted by the Daffron-Presswood Post 2504 and the Army National Guard.
