Fourth Grade Tournament to Support Du Quoin Youth Club

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[A fourth grade travel league basketball tournament has been organized to help support the Du Quoin Youth Club fundraising efforts.The tournament will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 24, 25 & 26. Teams participating in the tournament are Du Quoin, Pinckneyville, Sparta, Sesser,Herrin, Woodlawn, Benton and West Frankfort.

The first round of pool play basketball games will start at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the Youth Club.

5:30 p.m.-Herrin vs. Benton

6:30 p.m.- Sparta vs. Sesser

7:30 p.m.-Woodlawn vs. West Frankfort.

Saturday's games will start at 9 a.m. and will be played at the Youth Club.

9 a.m.-West Frankfort vs. Benton.

10:15 a.m.-Du Quoin vs. Sesser.

11:30 a.m.-West Frankfort vs. Herrin.

12:45 p.m.-Du Quoin vs. Pinckneyville

2 p.m.-Benton vs. Woodlawn.

3:15 p.m.-Sesser vs. Pinckneyville.

4:30 p.m.-Sparta vs. Du Quoin

5:45 p.m.-Herrin vs. Woodlawn

7 p.m.-Pinckneyville vs. Sparta

Bracket playoff games will be Sunday starting at 1 p.m. and will be played concurrently at the Youth Club and Sacred Heart gymnasiums. Pairings will be posted Saturday evening.

Basketball Dog Tags will be awarded to all players who participate in the tournament.

Free-throw and 3-point contests will be held between Saturday games. Sign-up fee is $2 per player (one entry per player for the 3-point contest). Contest finals are Sunday between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. First place trophies will be awarded for the winners of each contest.

Admission is $3 for adults per day (ages 15 and under free).

Nachos, popcorn, candy, gatorade and will be sold at concessions.

Parents of players in the tournament are donating time to help collect admission fees, work in concessions and to assist in anyway they can during the activities.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to the youth club.
