Despite having one of the better records in recent history, the Chester boys basketball team's postseason journey was a short one. The sixth-seeded Yellow Jackets lost to former River to River Conference rival Nashville (ranked third) in the first round of the Pinckneyville Regional Tournament by a score of 66-49. A big 19-0 run by Nashville in the first half proved to be the difference as the Hornets built a 37-18 lead by halftime. Chester stayed with Nashville in the second half and tried to stage a few rallies, but Nashville was still able to wrap up a big victory.
Kyle Landon led Chester's scoring with 21 points, Jacob Lochhead and Cody Mileur put in eight each, Chris Schwartz scored seven, Link Cushman had five and Matthew Heberlie added two. Scott Brown was the leading scorer for Nashville with 22 points. The Yellow Jackets finished the season with an overall record of 14 wins and 14 losses. They were 5-7 in their division of the Black Diamond Conference.
