Tickets go on sale for CHS production of Guys and Dolls
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Tickets are now on sale for the Chester High School Drama Department production of Guys and Dolls. Brenda Coop, Drama Director, announced this week that tickets will be available in the CHS Office from 8-4 daily, Monday through Friday. Ticket prices are $8.00 for reserved and $5.00 for General Admission.
The dates for the performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday March 15-17 at 7:30 pm and Sunday March 18 for the 2:00 P.M. afternoon matinee. All performances take place on the big stage in CHS Juergen's Gymnasium.
This year's production features another live orchestra directed by Steve Colonel, CHS Band Director. The lively story features approximately 50 cast members, 30 stage hands and an orchestra of about 15 members. In addition there will be volunteer members of the community that assist with various aspects of the production.
Guys and Dolls is the story of a lead male, Sky Masterson, played by Chris Dudenbostel and a lead lady, Sarah Brown, played by Elizabeth McClure. Masterson is a gambler while Brown is a Save-A-Soul Mission leader who hates gambling. The story is a back-and-forth game of cat and mouse between these two opposite personalities which involves love, romance and trickery.
The plot thickens as Nathan Detroit, played by Jared Johnson, continuously debates whether or not to finally marry his longtime girlfriend, Adeliade, played by Natasha Pulliam. By the way, Detroit and Adeliade have been engaged for 14 years. Laughter and intrigue pervades the entire show.
Fellow gamblers Nicely-Nicely Johnson, played by Trenton Wagner and Benny Southstreet, played by Ben Asselmeier, debate long and hard whether or not to give up their gambling lifestyles, which also lead to much confusion and craziness.
Other leading roles for Guys and Dolls includes Arvide Abernathy, played by Brian Hartman, Lt. Brannigan, played by Brandon Sauerhage, Harry the Horse, played by Austin Redeker, Angie the Ox, played by Jacob Lochhead, Rusty Charlie, played by Casey Venable, Joey Baltimore, played by Brenden Heins, M.C./waiter, played by Travis Chandler and the Police Officer, played by Tyler Chandler.
The show further includes Jenna Wingerter as Mimi/Hot Box/Havana and her Hot Box/Havana Dancers Morgan Colvis, Megan Marcinkowska and Taylor Marks. Hot Box Dancers include Alex Bixby, Deanna Hohgrefe, Dani Homan, Marah Laramore, Emilee Mattingly, Kennedy McCormick, Michaelyn Modglin, McKenzi Rucker, Chloe Wallace and Amber Watkins.
Jade South plays the roles of a Save-A-Soul Mission employee and General Cartwright. Other Save-A-Soul Mission personnel include Raelyn Rosendohl as Agatha, Emily Fricke as Martha and Allie Petrowske, Ashley Throop, Brittany Williams, Kacey Westerman and Kalyn Wingerter as workers.
The Guys and Dolls Chorus includes Mikayln Atchison, Ally Briggs, Tylor Brockhouse, Steven Colonel, Holly Hartman, Taylor McDaniel, Rachel Clendenin, Shelby Long and Brandi Phelps.
Set construction has been underway since January and cast rehearsals have been ongoing since the first of the year. Mrs. Coop notes that all is going well to date and she promises that drama-goers will not be disappointed with the 2012 CHS drama production of Guys and Dolls.
