Man Talks His Way Into Woman's House, Stays Three Hours
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Du Quoin Police Department is warning local residents about an unidentified man of Indian descent who talked his way into an older Du Quoin woman's home over the weekend, then stayed for three hours before leaving.
Police say the man came to the woman's house (the woman was not identified) and said that computers had been running slow in the neighborhood and he was there to check hers.
The woman allowed the man into her home, showed him where the computer was and he began to use the computer. Assistant Chief of Police Jamie Ellermeyer said the man was in the home for nearly three hours.
The woman was not hurt, but police and the woman have gone through the home to make sure nothing was taken. Police took her computer and are having local computer technician David Fleming go through the computer to find out what the man might have been doing and to find out if he had been on the internet, sites he may have visited or if he planted anything on the machine.
Call police at 542-2131 if you have a similar experience. Except for a small weekend internet outage, there have been no incidents in the area.
