Frank Edward Gladson

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[A memorial service for Frank Edward Gladson, of Mountain Home, Ark., formerly of Peoria, was at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012 at Memorial Christian Church, 2507 W. Newman Parkway in Peoria, IL 61604, with Rev. Dr. L. Arvil Bass, Jr. and Rev. Dr. Paul Mathenia officiating. The family received friends one hour before services at the church.

Frank passed away Feb. 15, 2012 in Mountain Home, Ark. at the age of 82. He was born Jan. 12, 1930 in Pinckneyville, Ill., the son of William Eugene and Jenny (Craig) Gladson. Frank married Mary Ann McElroy in Pinckneyville, Ill. After Mary Ann passed away, he married Phyllis West Judy in 1985 at Pinckneyville, Ill.

Frank retired from Caterpillar, Inc. as the head of purchasing, and lived in Mountain Home, Ark. since 1995. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mountain Home. Frank enjoyed fishing, golfing, and woodworking. He was a member of the 1948 Pinckneyville High School state championship basketball team and a member of the Caterpillar Diesels AAU basketball team. He was also inducted into the Illinois State High School Basketball Hall of Fame.

Frank is survived by his wife, Phyllis; two sons, Frank (Donna) Gladson of Peoria, Steven (Kris) Gladson of Peoria; four stepdaughters, Lisle (Bob) Applegate of Peoria, Cheryl (Tom) Bower of Peoria, Stephanie (Paul) Mathenia of Laurel, Md., Crystal (Randall) Compton of Fairbanks, Ala.; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother and two sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Mary Ann; two brothers and one sister.

Burial was at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Davison-Fulton-Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria was in charge of arrangements.
