That one hit was a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh inning. DuQuoin won the game 5-1 and ran their record to 3-0 on the season.

Kohrs pitched all seven innings, allowing one run (earned) on one hit. She had 11 strikeouts and one walk in the contest. Kohrs' record is 2-0.

Coach Jason James commented that "Kohrs was really on today. . .had a no-hitter until the solo home run in the seventh. Hirsch hit a 2-run homer in the third, and we really never looked back after that. We took better swings today, we just have to get better defensively." DuQuoin committed two errors in the game.

DuQuoin had seven hits in the game. Jessica Hirsch was 2-4 with a triple and a home run, and two RBI. Aubrey Davis was 1-4. Kelsey Robinson was 1-3 with a double. Cassidy Rice was 1-3 with an RBI. Magen Edwards was 1-3. Katrina Whitley was 1-3. Also seeing action were Hadley Marek and Hailey Stewart.

In the second game of the evening, DuQuoin played Waltonville. DuQuoin moved their record to 4-0 with a win over Waltonville at 9-4.

DuQuoin had 13 hits in the game. Jessica Hirsch was 1-4. Aubrey Davis was 1-4. Kelsey Robinson was 2-4 with a double. Cassidy Rice was 2-4. Alexis Kohrs was 2-3 with a double and two RBI. Hadley Marek was 2-3 with a double and an RBI. Magen Edwards was 1-3. Cassidy Hill was 1-3 with two RBI. Bailie Caldwell was 1-1. Others in the game were Amanda Williams, Jessy Wallace, Katrina Whitley, Kate Toler, and Abby Myers.

Cassidy Rice was the winning pitcher making her record 2-0. Rice pitched all seven innings allowing 4 runs (one earned), 5 hits, and had 14 strikeouts and no walks.

Coach James thought "Rice pitched well. We had way too many errors behind her that led to 3 unearned runs. Again, this is something that we will really have to work on. I once again liked the way we are starting to swing the bats. We have a big game tomorrow against Goreville. We will have to bring our A game." DuQuoin had 3 errors in this game as did Waltonville.

DuQuoin travels to Goreville on Tuesday, and has a home game with West Frankfort on Wednesday.
