Retiring Lawmaker Says He May Teach or Consult after Leaving Congress

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[U.S. Rep. Jerry Costello spent Friday afternoon with students at Elverado High School in Elkville. Paige Newfarmer, an EHS student in a government class, invited Costello to speak via e-mail. The Congressman discussed how he got into politics, the differences between Washington D.C. and southern Illinois and his plans for the future and took questions from the audience. Costello is not running for re-election this year. He hopes to teach at the college level and/or do some consulting when his current term expires.
