TITANIC HISTORY PROGRAM AT CHESTER LIBRARY
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ National Library Week at the Chester Library has featured many activities for residents of all ages. Two more programs will be held before the week's end. Thursday, April 12 at 6:00 p.m., the "Titanic History" will be presented at the Library. This will be an informative program on the history of the Titanic presented by Mrs. Kyle Koeneman and will include a PowerPoint presentation on images and information as the great ship was built, made its inaugural voyage, and sank on April 15, l912. Adults, teens, and older children are encouraged to attend.
On Friday, April 13, Library staff will also present a brief Titanic history at the Chester Nutrition site.
Titanic related materials from Mrs. Koeneman's collection, and Mrs. Margaret Pierce's collection remain on display at the Library. Mrs. Pierce's uncle, George Patchett, sailed and perished on the Titanic. Also on display are Titanic books given to the Chester Public Library by the late Allan Welge, and an early 1900 collectibles display courtesy of Mrs. Gail O'Connor. Mrs. O'Connor's display includes early Chester calling cards, ladies' accessories, and other antiques.
