DuQuoin Coach Jason James was happy about the win. "I thought Cassidy Rice pitched outstanding today. We did a good job of keeping their slap hitters off the bases. I am proud of Amanda Williams hitting that home run. It gave us a little bit of breathing room. We have to quit leaving runners on base, and drive them in. We got ourselves built up for Nashville tomorrow." Coach James is assisted by Jacob Emling and Lonnie James.

DuQuoin will be at home with Nashville on Tuesday. This is a very important game in the conference race for DuQuoin.

Pinckneyville had four hits in the game. Dani Schoenbacher was 2-3 with a walk; Melia Bathon was 1-3; Shersty Stanton was 1-3. The Panthers stranded ten runners on base during the game, and could not push a run across.

Pinckneyville Coach Mike Cheek commented, "Our defense played fairly well today. I told the players that if we had played that way the last 5-6 games, we would have won them. I cannot complain about our pitching or our defense. Our hitting was not great, but Cassidy Rice pitched well for DuQuoin." Coach Cheek is assisted by Adrienne Wilson and Bryant Hale.

DuQuoin plays Nashville at home on Tuesday, and Anna-Jonesboro at home on Friday.

Pinckneyville is at Sparta on Tuesday and at Carterville on Thursday before hosting Pleasant Plains Friday afternoon.
