Chester Stops Vienna, Losing Streak

The Chester Yellow Jackets saw their three game losing streak end with a thrashing of the Vienna Eagles 11-1 in five-innings. Chester is now 8-4 on the season , 2-1 in Black Diamond Conference play.
Caleb Arbeiter lead off the first inning with double and Casey Venable followed with a one out single. Chris Schwartz plated Arbeiter and Venable with a double for a 2-0 lead.
Arbeiter added a RBI-triple in the bottom of the second scoring Jake Lochhead who had a two-out single.
The third inning was the break out for the Jackets as they scored five runs for a 8-1 lead. Venable started the inning with a single and scored on double by Schwartz. A hit by pitch, three consecutive walks and a wild pitch plated four more runs for the Jackets.
Chester scored two runs in the fourth inning extending their lead to 10-1. Schwartz single and Dalton Misuraca double to set up Boyd Miles two RBI single.
The Jackets ended the game by the ten run rule with a run in the bottom of the fifth as Trent Eggemeyer single and came around to score on a Patrick McMath single for the 11-1 final.
Casey Venable improved to 3-0 with four hitter with four strikeouts,
The Jackets were lead offensively with Schwartz 3-for-3 on the day. Chris had two doubles and 3RBI's. Arbeiter was 2-for-2 with a double and a triple . Venable was 2 -for-3.
Chester will be at the Cohen Complex for their next three games as they will play New Athens (Apr.18), Carmi-White County(Apr.19) and Elverado(Apr.24).
Yellow Jackets Lose 12-2 in five-innings at Perryville
The Chester Yellow Jackets continued to sputter offensively as they drop a 12-2 decision to Perryville in five-innings. The Jackets record is 7-3 on the season.
Perryville build a 4-0 lead by the second inning and added 4 more runs in the fourth to build a 8-0 lead.
The Yellow Jackets scored their runs in the fifth. Casey Venable led off the inning with a single, went to third on a double by Dalton Misuraca. Venable would score on ground out and Misuraca on a fly out.
Perryville put another four spot in the bottom of the inning to short-game the Yellow Jackets by the 10- run rule.
Alec Weir took the loss for the Yellow Jackets. Caleb Arbeiter was 2-for-2 on the day while Misuraca and Venable was 1-for-2.
