"We played much better tonight," said EHS head softball coach Donette Wheatley. "We didn't strike out as much and we made the routine plays."
Pitching her third game in as many days, Corrine Wilson got the start again for Elverado and allowed nine hits and a walk with three strikeouts.
Wilson surrendered a one-out single to Emma Bachman followed by a two-run homer by Alexa Combs in the top of the first, and Carmi never trailed.
Bachman scored three times in the game, and Combs drove in all six runs for the Bulldogs.
Alicen Torres singled and scored in the fourth for the Lady Falcons' lone run of the day.
"Paige Newfamrer and Cheyenne Abbadusky did a great job for us tonight on defense," said Wheatley. "They made half the outs for us working the middle of the field."
Newfarmer (1-1, 3 BB), Torres (1-2, BB, R) and Erika Will (1-3) accounted for the Lady Falcons' three hits off Carmi pitcher Olivia Harrelson.
Elverado (10-10, 2-5) hosts Woodlawn on Friday in Vergennes.
