Pinckneyville Hospital Health Fair May 12
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Pinckneyville Community Hospital will hold their annual health fair on Saturday, May 12 from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Pinckneyville Junior High School.
Health fair activities include: free pulmonary function testing, free blood pressure testing and pulse/oxygen screening, free health education information hand-outs, free 5 -1 0 minute massage therapy demonstrations, bicycle safety seminar and give-aways for ages 5 to 12 years at 10:15 a.m., water safety seminar and give-aways for ages 5 to 12 years at 10:15 a.m., multiple hospital and health care information booths, VNA Luke Memorial Hospice Balloon Launch at 10 a.m. and tours of Arch helicopter, Perry County ambulance and Pinckneyville fire engine.
There will be attendance and and door prizes given away, as well.
Prior to the health fair on May 12, community members are invited to have lab work done at Pinckneyville Community Hospital. Laboratory staff will conduct the testing from 6 to 9 a.m. Monday, May 7 through Thursday, May 10 in the hospital chapel. The following tests will be available: comprehensive health panel (requires eight hours of fasting)- $25, vitamin D level- $20, PSA (men only)- $15, complete blood count (CBC)- $10, thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH)- $10.
The readings and explanations of these tests will be given on May 12 from 8 to 11 a.m. at the health fair. No blood will be drawn the day of the health fair.
