The Carlyle Indians scored one run in the top of the tenth inning to win the game 5-4. It was a disappointing loss for the DuQuoin Indians because it was the last home game of the season, and seniors were honored.

DuQuoin's record is now 16-13 overall.

Carlyle scored one run in the first inning, three runs in the third, and one run in the tenth inning. Carlyle loaded the bases in the top of the tenth on two walks and a hit batter. The ball was hit to the third baseman, who tagged the base, and threw home, but the runner was ruled safe.

DuQuoin scored one run in the second inning, two in the third, and one run in the seventh to tie the score at 4-4.

Austin Mansker pitched nine innings allowing 4 runs on 6 hits, had 3 walks, and 4 strikeouts. Nate Boss relieved Mansker in the tenth inning, and became the losing pitcher. Boss had 2 walks and 2 hit batters in the tenth inning.

DuQuoin had 8 hits in the game. Kegan Robbins was 2-4. Camdon Mercier was 1-4. Nate Boss was 2-4. Camden Youngman had an RBI. Travis Chapman was 1-4. Austin Mansker was 2-5. Garrett Dorsey had an RBI.

Carlyle had two home runs in the game, which gave them four runs; and each team had an error in the game.

Coach Tim Craft thought it was a "tough loss. The kids battled the whole game. Mansker went 9 innings, and gave us a chance to win. We just could not get that big hit to score."

DuQuoin travels to Z-R-C on Wednesday. Regional plays starts next week, with DuQuoin hosting the semi-finals and finals. The Indians are scheduled to play on Thursday (4:30).

Four Seniors were honored prior to the start of the game. Kegan Robbins is the son of Cory and Tracy Robbins. Robbins will play baseball on a scholarship to McKendree. Jon Boss is the son of Adam and Kelli Boss. Nathan Harris is the son of Stephanie Ridgeway and Louis Baker, Jr. Dylan Pyron is the son of Keith and Tara Pyron. Pyron has a baseball scholarship to Lindenwood College at Belleville.
