SOFTBALL: Rangerettes rally late to beat Lady Panthers
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Kristin Odom smacked a bases-loaded double in the seventh inning as part of a five-run rally for the Rangerettes in Benton's 7-5 victory at Pinckneyville on Tuesday afternoon. Amanda Holloway got the win for the Rangerettes despite allowing nine Lady Panther hits in the ball game.
Both teams scored twice in the first inning before the game went scoreless until the bottom of the sixth. Pinckneyville tacked on two in that inning before Benton's big rally in the seventh.
Jordan Koenegstein started for the Lady Panthers and went six and a third before Taylor Howard came in with one out in the seventh, picking up the loss.
Taigan Neibch (3-4), Holloway (3-4) and Odom (2-4, 3 RBI) led the Benton offense.
Jordyn Wieland (3-4), Taylor Cheek (2-4, 2B, RBI), Dani Schoenbacher (1-4, 2B), Shersty Stanton (1-4, RBI), Melia Bathon (1-2) and Howard (1-2, RBI) had PCHS's hits off Holloway.
Pinckneyville (16-12) travels to Marissa on Thursday.
