Other Indians in the game were Aubrey Davis, Abby Myers, Hailey Stewart, and Cassidy Hill was the flex on defense.

Coach Jason James thought "Rice was outstanding as usual, both on the mound and at the plate. We came up and hit the ball hard all over the place, up and down the lineup. Congrats to Whitley for hitting her first home run of the season, as well as Rice with her 12 shutouts during the regular season!"

DuQuoin won the second game against Cobden at 13-1. Alexis Kohrs got the win in this game. Her record is 18-1 for the season. Kohrs pitched five innings allowing one run (unearned) on two hits, and had 2 walks, with 5 strikeouts.

DuQuoin had 16 hits in the game. Jessica Hirsch was 1-4. Aubrey Davis was 1-2. Kelsey Robinson had a super game at the plate going 3-3, with a double, and an RBI. Cassidy Rice had a great day going 2-4 with a double, and 4 RBI. Alexis Kohrs hit well, and was 2-4, with a double, a home run, and 2 RBI. Hadley Marek was 2-3 with an RBI. Magen Edwards was 1-3. Amanda Williams was 2-3. Katrina Whitley was 1-2 with an RBI. Kate Toler was the flex on defense for the Indians.

Coach James commented: "Kohrs pitched great, and also hit her ninth home run of the season. That is one shy of tying the record set by Rice in 2010. Again, I could not be prouder of the way we hit the ball today. Yesterday in practice, I thought we swung the bats well, and it carried over into today. Getting 31 hits in a double header is just outstanding. I am very proud of the kids, and what they have accomplished during the regular season. Thirty three wins, just awesome! But now it is time to put that behind us, and get ready for the Regional--should be a lot fun!"

DuQuoin starts regional play at Herrin on Tuesday (4:30). The opponent will be determined by a game played on Monday between Zeigler-Royalton-Christopher and Benton. Other teams in the regional are West Frankfort, Herrin, and Johnston City. DuQuoin is the No. 1 seed with Johnston City as No. 2. The finals are set for Saturday, May 19, at 11:00 in Herrin. The winner of the Herrin regional moves to the Pinckneyville Sectional.
