Du Quoin Council Accepts Bids for Surplus Truck and Mowers

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Du Quoin City Council Thursday met briefly and accepted bids for a surplus truck and some mowing equipment.

Tommy Eisenhauer submitted a bid of $2,420 for a 1995 Ford F-700 dump truck. Jeff Carrothers submitted a bid of $1,222 for one of two Cub Cadet mowers and Allen James submitted a bid of $1,035 for the other.

The council approved Ordinance 2012-O06-03 that amends Chapter 30 and defines the hiring criteria for part time police officers in relation to compliance with Illinois State statutes.

The council approved Resolution 2012-R06-02 authorizing the mayor to execute a financing package between the City of Du Quoin and Edgar County Bank And Trust for a new fire truck.

The council accepted bids for summer street program oil and chipping materials.
