Burn Ban Prohibits Personal Fireworks in Du Quoin

At next Tuesday's community celebration at the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds, police and firemen will criss-cross the hills on ATV's confiscating any personal fireworks that are found. He said the risks include cars backing over people trying to pull away in the event of a grass fire in this extreme heat. Leave your fireworks at home and save them for a rainier day.
