SWIMMING: Indians dominate at Anna

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Swimming Indians continued their hot start to the 2012 summer swim season on Tuesday night, overwhelming Anna 505-194 in team points while Olivia Cravens continued to rewrite Du Quoin&#39;s record books.

Cravens was one of nine Swimming Indians to win five times on Tuesday and broke team records in the girls 11-12 100m freestyle (1:06.97) and 50m backstroke (36.60). The backstroke mark had stood since 1995 (Kacie Taylor).

The girls 9-10 100m medley relay team of Amelia McLain, Madilyn McLain, Lauren Cravens and Elizabeth Bird also broke a Du Quoin record, finishing in 1:20.22.

Du Quoin swept first place in all races in the girls 7-8, 11-12, and 13-14 divisions, and the boys 7-8, 13-14 and 15-18 divisions.

Joining Olivia Cravens on the list of five-event winners for Du Quoin were Lauren Heape (girls 7-8), Alexandria Gossman (girls 11-12), Quinn Kirkpatrick (girls 13-14), Haley Kuhnert (girls 13-14), Trae Horn (boys 7-8), Paxton Higgerson (boys 11-12), Nicholas King (boys 13-14) and Caleb Gomes (13-14).

Lauren Cravens (girls 9-10), Grace Gomes (girls 15-18), Courtney Rudloff (girls 15-18), Tyler VanZandt (boys 9-10), Jacob Harsy (boys 9-10), Aaron Korbar (boys 11-12), Trevor Jones (boys 15-18) and Jerry Kuhnert (boys 15-18) each won in four events.

The Swimming Indians are on the road again Saturday at the Mt. Vernon Invitational.
