These were only some of the ideas from a unique seminar held Monday.

The Illinois Small Business Development Center hosted a workshop Monday, "Business Ideas for Teens" at the DuQuoin Library. Ashley Henderson, SIUC MBA student and graduate assistant in SIUC Entrepreneurship, along with Caitlin Williams, SIUC undergrad in English Education, and Erica Lincoln, SIUC undergrad in Elementary Education, who both work as student workers in the Entrepreneurship Division, created the program. The presentation included advice on legalities of starting a business, free and low-cost marketing tips, and a variety of viable business ideas that would be ideal for teens to start on their own with little capital resources needed. The presentation also included some business-related exercises and resources. The event was hosted by the DuQuoin Library, provided for by a Penny Severns grant.
