Pinckneyville Family ‘Night in the Park' Is July 27
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Pinckneyville Police Department, Fire Department and Ambulance Service will host the annual Family Night in the Park Friday, July 27 from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at the Perry County Fairgrounds.
The event begins at 5 p.m. with a welcome from Master of Ceremonies Ted Cunningham and opening ceremonies featuring Keith Shasteen and Boy Scout Troop #47. Contests, games and a musical performance by Beaucoup Creek Band begin at 5:30 p.m. Activities for children include face painting, bike safety, Thresherman's train ride, duck pond, jumping barn, sports contests and a dunking booth. Police officers will compete in a doughnut eating contest at 7:15 p.m. and Magician Chris Egleston will perform at 7:30 p.m.
There will be free food and drinks throughout the event. Bike give-aways and safety stop drawings round out the evening at 8:15 p.m.
The purpose of the evening is to foster communication between law enforcement and emergency services and the community. There will be safety stops for the Police, Fire, Ambulance Service and utilities.
