Taste of Home Cooking School returns to Marion this fall

Tickets are now on sale at six area locations for the famed Taste of Home Cooking School, which is being brought back to Marion this fall by The Daily Republican after a hiatus of several years.

Join the staff of The Daily Republican for a fun-filled cooking experience on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at Marion Cultural and Civic Center. Doors open at 5 p.m. All ticket holders will receive a gift bag with coupons and samples, and have the opportunity to register for door prizes and to win the dishes prepared on stage during the show. There will be over 20 booths filled with good food, fun and prizes and giveaways to visit prior to the show, which starts at 7 p.m.

A Taste of Home Cooking School show is a 2 1/2-hour stage demonstration of 10 to 12 recipes, offering valuable cooking tips. Culinary specialists show step-by-step instructions on how to create satisfying and flavorful dishes. More than 300,000 people attend more than 300 Taste of Home Cooking School shows across American each year.

Seating is limited. Tickets are $10 in advance, but through Aug. 31 there is a "buy three tickets get one free" offer. Tickets may be purchased during office hours at six area newspapers: The Daily Republican, Marion; The Daily American, West Frankfort; The Daily Register, Harrisburg; the Murphysboro American; Benton Evening News; and Du Quoin Evening Call.

Tickets may also be purchased by mail. Send a check payable to The Daily American at The Daily American, 111 E. Emma, West Frankfort, Ill. 62896. Please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope.
