Du Quoin Asking Dowell to Shut off Water to Customers Who Do Not Pay Sewer Bill

A new intergovernmental agreement between the City of Du Quoin and Village of Dowell is asking Dowell to shut off water to any of the town's 63 water customers who receive water service from Dowell, but sewer service from the City of Du Quoin.

Residents and businesses on the Dowell water line that runs from Chip Banks Chevrolet south to Dowell get two bills. One comes from the Village of Dowell for water and the second comes from the City of Du Quoin for sewer service.
