Wallace Pleads Guilty in Road Rage Case; Bond Reduced in Perez Assault Incident

A Tamaroa man has pleaded guilty to a July 1 road rage incident on Rt. 127 outside of Pinckneyville, was fined $500, sentenced to 78 days in jail (already satisfied) and ordered never to make contact with the victims of the incident.

On Sunday, July 1, 2012 at approximately 2:30 a.m., the Perry County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call reference a reckless driver.

Caller stated he was northbound on Rt. 127 heading toward Pinckneyville and a subject driving a large pickup truck was trying to run them off the road. Caller stated this happened several times.

Perry County deputies arrested Shannon Wallace, 28, Tamaroa . Wallace was charged with four counts of reckless driving and four counts of aggravated assault with a vehicle. All but one of the counts was dismissed.

Wallace is the same man charged in the alleged beating of Jorge Perez at a local powder paint coating shop in April.

In that separate action by the court, Wallace's bond was reduced to $10,000. He is not to have contact with the defendant's family and he is largely confined to his home in Tamaroa.
