VOLLEYBALL: PCHS beats West Frankfort in straight sets

PINCKNEYVILLE IL - The Lady Panthers defeated West Frankfort in varsity volleyball action on Thursday, 25-15, 25-12, to win their home opener in the brand new girls gymnasium at Pinckneyville Community High School.

Katelyn Mayer led PCHS with 7 kills and 3 aces in the match and Bailey Nippe, Danielle Bruns and Haley Simpson each added 4 kills. Morgan Wild finished with 2 kills, Denise Bruns had 1.

Kristen Ginn had a team-high 7 assists to go along with a pair of service aces. Nippe also pitched in 4 assists.

Pinckneyville is at the Benton Tournament this weekend before heading to Carterville next Tuesday.
