Hit and Run Storm Tears up Half-Mile Stretch of Rt.14 East of Du Quoin

Rudy Rice had just pulled the backyard trampoline off the roof of his house and was helping Bruce Milam across the street pick up limbs from a micro-burst that tore up a half-mile stretch of Rt. 14 east of Du Quoin Wednesday night.

To the east, a ServPro water clean-up team was just pulling out of the driveway after a night of dealing with a large section of roof that had been blown off the Brad and Tammy Holford house.

Ameren linemen had spent the night repairing lines along Rt. 51 as Old Du Quoin was without power for more than an hour because the hit and run storm.
