Robert Dale Overturf
Robert Dale "Shakey" Overturf, 60, of Du Quoin passed away at 2:35 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012 at the Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.
Dale had run a service truck in construction through the Teamsters Hall. He was of the Christian Faith. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 347.
He was born to Paul L. and Frances Marie (Dasher) Miller on Nov. 9, 1951 at Du Quoin, Ill. He was adopted and raised by his adoptive parents Edgar and Carolyn (Miller) Overturf. He lived and went to school in Mt. Vernon, Ill.
He married Lana J. Linze on July 4, 1981 at Ava, Ill. and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, three children- Rachael Miller of South Carolina, Rebecca Hope of Pinckneyville and Robert Miller of Mt. Vernon, 12 grandchildren, mother- Frances Marie Miller of Du Quoin, brothers and sisters- Paul Dean Miller of Pinckneyville, Clarence Miller of Du Quoin, Sonny Miller of Waltonville, Barbara Airendale of Scheller, Steven Miller of Cutler, Judy Bottiaux of Pinckneyville, Carla Kay Ferris of Cutler, Christine Quillman of Mt. Vernon, Debra Hicks of Mt. Vernon, Mark Miller of Cutler, Bill Miller of Du Quoin, Mike Miller of Du Quoin, Bryan Miller of Du Quoin, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, adoptive parents, two brothers- Edward Wayne Miller and Ronald J. Miller.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Jim Endsley officiating.
Friends may call from Noon until time of service Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial will be in the Old Du Quoin Cemetery at Du Quoin.
