New Du Quoin Administrator Meets the Community
Brad Myers began his work on Monday as Du Quoin's new city clerk and administrator. Finance commissioner Rex Duncan took a vacation day from his work at SIU to tour the community with Myers and introduce him to the city's departments and their personnel and to show him the resources of the community. Wife Jennifer remains in Denver, Colo. for now to button down placing their home on the market and transitioning to Du Quoin. In the first few minutes at the newspaper's offices he was quick to identify himself as a resident of Du Quoin and looks forward to his work here. Myers was born in Belleville, Ill. grew up in Lebanon, Ill. and has retired from a substantial career in the United States Air Force and as a private military consultant and contractor. Brad and his wife Jennifer have been married for 10 years and have four children (Andy, David, Suzanne and Ryan) and two granddaughters (Kaydance and Jemma). Myers is very open and approachable and can be found at city hall in Du Quoin. His first city council meeting will be Monday, Nov. 12.
