Pinckneyville High School Board Approves Facility Use Policy

The Pinckneyville Community High School Board of Education approved an application for use of the new high school facilities by the public. The application offers different prices for school organizations, non-profit community groups and private groups.

School organizations are required to pay only custodial fees which are set at 1.5 times the hourly pay rate per custodian.

Non-profit groups pay $50 for Thomas Gym, $45 for the new gym or cafetorium and $25 per Learning Community Center or classroom plus $10 for each additional room.

Private groups pay $100 for Thomas Gym, $85 for the new gym or cafetorium and $50 for the Learning Community Center.

Renters must show proof of insurance, finish activities by 10 p.m. and no alcohol or tobacco use is permitted on campus.

Applications are available at the school.

In other business, the board:

• approved Greg Hale as co-supervisor of the Duster Thomas Hoops Classic.

• granted a request by Dr. Nancy Blechle to attend the ITEC conference in Springfield Nov. 28-29, 2013. Two students will attend the conference with her and make presentations on technology integration in the classroom.

• set the 2013 meeting dates for the fourth Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. except in May and December when the board meets on the third Monday.
