Marceil J. Reminger

Marceil J. Reminger, age 93, of Du Quoin, Ill., passed away on Monday, Dec. 3, 2012 at 4:10 a.m. in her home.

Marceil was born on Sept. 13, 1919 in Chicago, Ill., a daughter to Jess and Margaret E. (Maxton) Bridenstine. On April 19, 1952, she married Orland F. Reminger in Du Quoin, Ill. and he preceded her in death on April 18, 1969.

Marceil was a secretary to the administrator at Marshall Browning Hospital, Du Quoin, Ill. for 44 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Du Quoin, Ill. and was also the church historian. She enjoyed volunteering her time to Marshall Browning Hospital Auxiliary, Du Quoin Public Library, Meals on Wheels and Red Cross Blood Drives. Marceil enjoyed visiting with her friends at the Meet to Eat group. She loved sewing, crafts and yard work.

Survivors include one brother, Jess Bridenstine of Daytona Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Catherine Khory of Herrin, Ill. and Mary Lou (Bill) Hammack of Pinckneyville, Ill.; sister-in-law, Doris Stephens of Du Quoin, Ill. and many dear nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant son, J.J. and two sisters, Francis Girdner and Margaret Carter.

Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Du Quoin, Ill. on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Tim Scroggins officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Du Quoin, Ill.

Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Du Quoin, Ill. on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
