Edith H. Burns

Edith H. Burns, 78, of Sparta, Ill., passed away at 3:44 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012 at her son's residence in Coulterville, Ill.

She was born June 11, 1934 in Baldwin, Ill., a daughter to Edward and Viola (Wiley) Henrici. She married Lee Edward Burns on Sept. 2, 1949 in Piggott, Ark. and he preceded her in death on Jan. 29, 1996.

Mrs. Burns was a homemaker.

Surviving are two daughters, Judy Burns of Evansville, Ill. and Brenda Sue Burns of Broken Arrow, Okla.; five sons, Larry Burns of Coulterville, Ill., De Wayne (Debbie) Burns of Coulterville, Ill., Michael (Michele) Burns of Steeleville, Ill., Dennis (Rose) Burns of Coulterville, Ill. and Brian Burns of Sparta, Ill.; two sisters-in-law, Kathryn Burns of Sparta, Ill. and Shirley Seyferth of Sparta, Ill.; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one sister.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 10 at McDaniel Funeral Home in Sparta, Ill. with Bud Bennett officiating.

Interment will be in Caledonia Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9 and on Monday, Dec. 10 from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service at McDaniel Funeral Home in Sparta.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Sparta VFW Veterans Organization or to the donor's choice.
