No Drugs on Pinckneyville Campus, But Marijuana 'Walk on' Surprises Police

A coordinated drug search using K-9 units from the Pinckneyville Police Department, Nashville Police Department, the Perry County Sheriff's office and the Red Bud Police Department occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m. Friday.

An extensive search of the Pinckneyville Community Hgh School buildings and campus parking lots did not lead to the discovery of any drugs.

However, during the search an adult came onto the campus and raised suspicion wit law enforcement officials. Questioning by the officers lead to a search that revealed evidence suspected to be marijuana. The evidence was taken to police headquarters to be tested for verification.

The police removed the individual from campus and are conducting a further investigation into the matter.
