Five, Probably Six, File for Du Quoin School Board

The deadline to file for seats in school districts and town boards and councils across the state is 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 26. District 300 offices will be staffed on that day as well as appropriate election filing offices elsewhere.

At this writing, there are five candidates for three seats in Du Quoin District 300. The seats are held by incumbents Mike Ward, Joe Day and Charles "Beaver" Rice, who have already filed. Other petitions have been filed by Dennis Cole and Aaron Wright.

Longtime Du Quoin business instructor Pat Ferrari was circulating her petitions today and is expected to file by the deadline.

The newspaper will report on filings in all districts and for all boards after the Dec. 26 deadline ends.
