Lorene E. Sharp

Lorene E. Sharp, 91, of Du Quoin, passed away at 10:25 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.

Lorene was a seamstress at the sewing factory. She was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ in Du Quoin.

She was born Sept. 24, 1921 at Du Quoin, Ill., the daughter of George and Ella (Heumann) Harsy.

She married William L. Sharp on Nov. 10, 1957 at Hernando, Miss. and he preceded her in death on July 27, 2008.

She is survived by one son - Darrel C. Coffel of Pulaski, Ill., one brother - Richard Harsy of Decatur, Ill., one sister-in-law - Matilda Harsy of Du Quoin, 10 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and numerous great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three daughters - Roberta McClanahan, Emma Lou Cadle and Eloise Henson, five brothers - Robert Harsy, Kenneth Harsy, Gene Harsy, Bill Harsy and John Edward Harsy, one grandson, three granddaughters and one great grandson.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Joe Wagner officiating.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
