Marian Lauraine Hardin

Marian Lauraine Hardin, age 90, of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed away on Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 at 1:00 a.m. in Coulterville Care Center, Coulterville, Ill.

Marian was born on July 11, 1922 in Centralia, Ill., a daughter to George and Opal (Crain) Tefertiller. On Oct. 5, 1973, she married Claude Hardin and he preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 1992. Marian was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. and worked for PR Mallory and was a press inspector at Decca Records, Pinckneyville, Ill., retiring on July 6, 1984. She enjoyed flower gardening, caring for her dog, cat and birds, crocheting, embroidery and singing karaoke. Marian dearly loved spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include one son, Jim (Sandy) Phillips of Pinckneyville, Ill.; two daughters, Nancy (Wayne) Greer of Pinckneyville, Ill. and Darlene Kunkle of Pinckneyville, Ill.; step-daughter, Mary McKinstry of Barnhart, Mo.; daughter-in-law, Diane Hardin of Pinckneyville, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Mark Greer (fiancé, Darlene Newbury) of Pinckneyville, Ill., Steve (Danielle) Greer of Swanwick, Ill., Tim (Sarah) Simpson of Pinckneyville, Ill., Brian (Laurie) Simpson of West Chicago, Ill., Kelly Hougland of Rockwell, Tex., Leslie (Joe) Fisher of Pawnee, Ill., Jill (Travis) Burris of Du Quoin, Ill. and Jamie Lisk of Pinckneyville, Ill. and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, George Tefertiller; mother and step-father, Opal and Lionel Ervin; husband; one daughter, Norma (Phillips) Hammack; one sister in infancy; two sons-in-law, Lowell Hammack and Arland "Sonny" Kunkle; two step-daughters, Pauline Hammonds and Alice Burke and one step-son, Don Hardin.

Funeral services will be held at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Rob Mathis officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, Ill.

Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Alzheimer's Association.
