Proclamation celebrates silver anniversary charity ball

Du Quoin Mayor Rex Duncan today issued a proclamation celebrating Saturday, March 9, 2013 as Du Quoin Youth Club Charity Ball Day in the City of Du Quoin. Begun in 1988 to raise money for the Du Quoin Youth Club, the event is being held this year at the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds Expo Hall with hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, raffles and a silent auction from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., the dinner buffet from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and the live auction at 8 p.m. with entertainment and dancing throughout the evening. The cost is $40 per person and tickets can be purchased at the door.
