Clayborne Rackley Jr.

Clayborne "June" Rackley Jr., age 92, of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed away on Friday, March 8, 2013 at 3:14 a.m. in Coulterville Care Center, Coulterville, Ill.

June was born on Dec. 5, 1920 in Pinckneyville, Ill., a son to Clayborne Emery and Maida Pauline (Starkweather) Rackley Sr. On June 14, 1942, he married Ina Lee Keene in Perryville, Mo. and she preceded him in death on Dec. 27, 1993. June was the owner and operator of his own trucking company and hauled logs to the mill. June was a member of Roe's Dale Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. and enjoyed camping, fishing, singing bluegrass and playing the guitar.

Survivors include two daughters, Jane (David) Thompson of Pinckneyville, Ill. and Janet Davis of Sparta, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Greg (Vickie) Thompson, Dale (Rebecca) Thompson, Charles "Chuck" (Becky) Thompson; Heidi (Chris) Williams, Heath (Priscilla) Rackley, Tracy (Casey) Vallett, Melissa (Jeremy) Kempfer; and Jason (Teresa) Davis; 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one son, Richard Rackley; a brother, Milton Rackley and son-in-law, Neely Davis.

Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Dale Thompson officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, Ill.

Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday at the First Baptist Church from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
