Loraine B. Sharp

Loraine B. Sharp, age 83, of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 8:55 p.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Pinckneyville, Ill.

Loraine was born on March 25, 1930 in Perry County, Ill., a daughter to Edward and Lucy (Morgan) Newson. On Feb. 2, 1952, she married Robert E. Sharp in New Jersey and he preceded her in death on Jan. 26, 2008. She had worked as a service girl at the Garment Factory in Pinckneyville, Ill. and Du Quoin, Ill. for 42 years. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. and recently attended Roes Dale Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. Loraine was a member of the Ill.GWU and enjoyed quilting, embroidering, bowling and going to yard sales.

Survivors include her son, Ronney (Rhonda) Sharp of Pinckneyville, Ill.; a sister, Peggy (Kenneth) Robinson of Coulterville, Ill.; a brother, Kenneth (Norma) Newson of Belleville, Ill.; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Monday, April 22, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery, Swanwick, Ill.

Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
