Seized drug task force vehicles going to the highest bidder at State Police

The Southern Illinois Drug Task Force holds an annual spring vehicle sale in order to raise funds which supports the drug unit by paying operating expenses, such as phone bills, equipment purchases, fuel and vehicle expenses. The Drug Task Force has offices located at Du Quoin, Ullin, and Carmi. The vehicles for sale can be vehicles that have been purchased and paid for by the SIDTF. The vehicles can also be seized as the result of a narcotics case and then legally awarded to the task force through the court system. These vehicles are used for a period of time and then later sold. The bids are due no later than 10:00 a.m. on April 29, 2013. The vehicles lining the fence in front of the Dist. 13 command in Du Quoin include: 2000 Ford Mustang GT (black) 99,000 miles; 2000 Dodge Caravan (blue) 129,000 miles; 2001 Ford Ranger XLT truck (dark blue) 121,000 miles; 2002 GMC Yukon (maroon) 177,000 miles; 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix (silver) 124,000 miles; 2005 GMC Sierra truck (white) 104,000 miles; 2007 Suzuki C50T motorcycle 3000 miles.
