Thomas E. Davison Jr.
Thomas E. Davison Jr., 81, of Du Quoin, passed away at 6:26 p.m., Saturday, April 27, 2013 at his residence.
Tom had worked for Consol Coal Company as an assistant superintendent at Consol #5 Mine. He had also worked for the Ford Motor Company. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Du Quoin. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Du Quoin Elks, American Legion and V.F.W. He was an avid golfer and champion pool player.
He was born March 2, 1932 at Du Quoin, Ill., the son of Thomas E. and Hilda H. (Heiman) Davison Sr.
He married Janis L. (Voice) Knetzger on March 2, 1974 at Du Quoin, Ill., and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, six children - Thomas Dean Davison and wife Debbie of Du Quoin, Timothy D. Davison and wife Lovisa of Lake St. Louis, Mo., Laura Davison of Du Quoin, Lottie Ridgeway and husband Darren of Du Quoin, Keith Knetzger of San Diego, Calif. and Susie Cole and husband Donald of Du Quoin, one sister - Shirley Weisel and husband Ray of Tamaroa, 15 grandchildren - Stephen Davison, Rhonda Pulke, Jeremiah Davison, Derek Davison, Jonathan Davison, Jacob Davison, Emma Davison, Jack Clark II, Nikki Roach, Brittany Roach, Kaylee Ridgeway, Karissa Knetzger, Christopher Knetzger, Sydney Cole and Nick Cole and 13 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step mother - Edna Davison, grandparents, one brother - Conrad Davison and two grandsons - Jonathan Edward Davison and Thomas Britton Clark.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Russell Ragovin officiating.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Du Quoin V.F.W. and American Legion and the U.S. Air Force.
Friends may make memorials to the American Diabetes Association or Wounded Warriors and will be accepted at the funeral home.
