Eugenia Knapp

Eugenia Knapp, 94, of Tamaroa, passed away at 7:29 p.m., Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at her residence.

Eugenia had been a homemaker. She was a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church in Du Bois.

She was born April 20, 1919 at Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Gregory and Mary (Boran) Kowalski Tkaczyk.

She married Lawrence Noah Knapp on July 10, 1937 at St. Louis, Mo. and he preceded her in death on Sept. 12, 2001.

She is survived by ten children - James Knapp and wife Frances of Dowell, Nancy Quinn and husband Salathiel of Du Quoin, Phyllis Ferguson of Tamaroa, Loretta Adcock and husband Gary of Tamaroa, Betty Roberts and husband Dave of Tamaroa, Jerry Knapp and wife Carolyn of Tamaroa, Susy Kuberski and husband Rich of Du Bois, Bobby Knapp and wife Beth of Tamaroa, Mary Jo Rybacki and husband Roger of Du Quoin, Nelson Knapp of Tamaroa, one daughter-in-law - Eileen Knapp of Du Quoin, one son-in-law - Greg Ratajczyk of Scheller, one brother - Andy Tkaczyk of Virginia, 29 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter - Cathy Ratajczyk, one son - Leonard Knapp, one granddaughter - Stephanie Ratajczyk, two grandsons, one sister and two brothers.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the St. Charles Catholic Church in Du Bois with Fr. Oliver Nwachukwu officiating.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.

Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m., Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.

Burial will be in the St. Charles Cemetery at Du Bois.

Friends may make memorials to St. Bruno School and will be accepted at the funeral home.
