Michael R. Prusacki
Michael R. Prusacki, 83, of Du Quoin, passed away at 10:22 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at the Fairview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Du Quoin.
Mike was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Mike was a member of the Perry County Farm Bureau.
He was born Sept. 11, 1929 at Tamaroa, Ill., the son of Mike S. and Rose (Nikrant) Prusacki.
He married Rosalea Strauch on Sept. 5, 1959 at Christopher, Ill. and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, two sisters-in-law - Dorothy Prusacki of Du Quoin and Connie Prusacki of Tamaroa, nieces, nephews and Godchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters - Bernice (Tom) Nowakowski and Laverne (Arthur) Kabat and two brothers - Ralph Prusacki and Leon Prusacki.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin with Fr. Nick Junker officiating.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Rosary will be prayed at 12:50 p.m., Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Du Quoin.
Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Du Quoin V.F.W. and American Legion and the Army National Guard.
Friends may make memorials to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Masses and will be accepted at the funeral home.
