Lee Albert Teel

Lee Albert Teel, 78, of Du Quoin, passed away at 8:18 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2013 at his residence.

Lee was a self-employed truck driver. He had also been in the vacuum cleaner business with his brother Clifton.

He was a member of the Du Quoin Church of Nazarene. .

He was born July 9, 1934 at Tamaroa, Ill. in the Paradise Prairie area, the son of Howard D. and Wanda M. (Thompson) Teel.

Lee married Ludene Kirk Roberson on May 12, 1994 at Piggott, Ark. and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, six children- Ron Teel of Peoria, Brenda Stecher of Sheridan, Lida Bishop of Creve Coeur, Ill., Todd Teel of Creve Coeur, Ill., Darla Coffman of Peoria Heights and Cheryl Pelker of Du Quoin, two sisters- Annetta Huggins of Pinckneyville and Dianna Scarber of Du Quoin, brother- Kenny Teel of Edwardsville, 15 grandchildren- Daniel, Chris, Melissa, Leanne, Jerome, Monica, Tiffany, Christy, Samantha, Amanda, Miranda, Christian, Shawn, Tim and Justin Pelker, 20 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter- Jessica Teel, son-in-law- Douglas Pelker, two brothers- Clifton Teel and Virgil Teel, two sisters- Ina Mae Richardson and Illa Marie Teel.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Michael Ice officiating.

Friends may call from Noon until time of service Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the Paradise Cemetery at Tamaroa.

Friends may make memorials to the Donors Choice or the Perry County Humane Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
